Explosive Revelation: Wales’ Media Drops Shocking Verdict on Neco Williams in Dramatic Nations League Showdown

For Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams, the international break will be a welcome time as he looks for chance to ditch frustration in what has already become a frustrating 2024/25 season. And since then, Williams has played a back-up role with Nuno Espirito Santo opting for Ola Aina at right-back and Alex Moreno on the left to replace him six times this term.

Atalanta, however, took a fancy to Williams over the summer but he remained at Forest where he promised to fight for his place. The 23-year-old was given the opportunity to start for Wales a few days into this recent camp. At left-back, Williams was a key figure in the Welsh side which held Turkey to a 0-0 draw to keep their Nations League hopes alive.

Things changed dramatically late in when Williams was controversially ruled to have fouled a Turkey player for a penalty kick. At least for Wales, the penalty was onto the post and so they didn’t concede a second goal. That did not deter Welsh media who handed Williams a respectable 7/10 for his defending – only slight criticisms of the fact.

Williams’ long-term future may well hang over him as he was out of the starting line-up at Forest. It was meant to ensure he received regular minutes after a handful of appearances with Liverpool. Williams, however, may face the scenario in which he has to weigh up a move to Atalanta — for more minutes in general. Provided that’s not remedied in the next month or so.

In short, Williams is still an important part of the bench but these upcoming months may be significant for both the future of his career and other clubs looking to get their hands on him.
