Ilicali has cited the array of injuries and controversial refereeing decisions – perhaps they both evened themselves out but certainly did, he believes, change results in ways that count – for some of the team’s difficulties. Although the team has continued to struggle of late, Ilicali has been backed Walter and states that Hull City have been on the wrong end of fortune.
Ilicali also sounded upbeat no matter how talented players seem to wake up when fans air misgivings about the team’s performances, hoping that it will soon begin as keynames who have missed started working. Acknowledging the difficult situation facing the team, which saw a recent losing streak and two players absent from training due to Covid-19 infections in 24 hours, Ilicali urges context before judging Walter Services.
Both teams now need to regroup for what will be an important clash after the international break, with Hull next travelling to Luton and Preston welcoming Derby. In terms of the rest of the upcoming schedule, there is a Championship Boxing Day clash between Hull and Preston at Deepdale on Wednesday.
