AdminA player from the Brisbane Broncos’ 2025 development roster has officially transferred to a different club, resulting in his relocation from Queensland to New South Wales.
Bailey Trew, capable of playing either wing or fullback, has emerged as one of the top young back-line talents in Queensland over recent seasons and has even secured a place on the Brisbane Broncos’ development roster for the current year.
At just 19 years old, he has dedicated the past three years to competing in the Mal Meninga Cup, representing both the Souths Logan Magpies and Burleigh Bears.
Demonstrating consistent improvement with each game, he managed to score eight tries in nine matches for the Bears this season.
As one of five players on the Broncos’ development list, alongside Cameron Bukowski, Hayze Perham, Jett Bryce, and Va’a Semu, Trew has chosen to depart the organization and join the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
In his debut for the new team, Trew scored two tries during the Jersey Flegg Cup match on Sunday against the Cronulla Sharks, but unfortunately, the squad based in the Shire fell short, losing 40-14.
It is reported that he will spend the remainder of the season in the Jersey Flegg Cup and aims to earn some playing time in reserve grade as he strives to advance through the ranks.
