AdminFollowing a three-year hiatus from the Wests Tigers, Jock Madden is set to make a grand entrance back to the club. Having spent the last three seasons with the Brisbane Broncos, the playmaker, who first appeared for the Tigers in 2021, has reached an agreement to return to his old team on a two-year contract for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
This development comes after he was informed that he could depart Red Hill if he discovered a new opportunity and has recently been associated with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Hull FC within the Super League.
With Jayden Sullivan likely to stay with the Rabbitohs for 2026, Madden will serve as the primary back-up for Jarome Luai and Latu Fainu, who are viewed as the future halves pairing, as the club aims to revitalize its performance.
“It feels amazing to come back to the Wests Tigers in 2026. I’m thrilled to work and play under Benji’s leadership and to be part of a team that is moving in a positive direction,” Madden expressed.
Starting his journey with the Wests Tigers in 2021 under Michael Maguire, Madden was once regarded as one of the most promising young halves in the sport, yet he has struggled to secure regular game-time in the NRL. Over the last five seasons, he has only registered 32 first-grade games, but he has demonstrated flashes of his talent when stepping in for Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam, both of whom frequently faced injuries.
Coach Benji Marshall remarked, “Jock is an intelligent player with a robust kicking ability and an excellent work ethic. ”
