PulsesportSerge Gnabry has extended his contract at Bayern Munich until 2028.
The agreement means that Gnabry, whose previous contract with the Bavarians was set to run out this summer, will have been on Bayern’s books for a decade, should he see out this new deal at the club.
“Serge has grown at Bayern and is one of the absolute pillars of this team. He’s hugely important both on the pitch and in the changing room. He’s won it all with this club and still wants more. That makes him a role model. He represents Bayern,” said board member for sport Max Eberl.

Sporting director Christoph Freund added, “Everyone can see how much Serge enriches our game. He’s versatile in attack, quick, skilled on the ball and in finishing. We’re delighted he’ll continue to play for Bayern, as he also has an important role in our team with his demeanour and character.”
Gnabry himself said of the new deal: “I’m excited to get to play for Bayern for more years. Talks were always positive. When I started at Bayern, I never would’ve thought that I’d be here for 10 years by the end of this contract. My goals are to keep things going.
“We’re a real unit and can achieve something big. The reasons to renew my contract are the team, the coaches, the whole club, the fans, the city and the environment. I feel very much at home at Bayern.”
The 30-year-old joined Bayern in 2017 from Werder Bremen, spending the 2017/18 campaign on loan at Hoffenheim before joining up with his new employers ahead of the following season.
Since then, he has scored 100 goals in 311 competitive matches for Bayern, winning six Bundesliga titles, two DFB Cups and the UEFA Champions League in 2020.
He was also named the Munich club’s Player of the Season following the 2018/19 season – his first at the Allianz Arena – while he also has 57 Germany caps and 25 international strikes to his name.
