AdminCollingwood has made agreements with two of their championship players before they head into the finals in 2025, and one of them is about to set a new record with his contract.
Scott Pendlebury is going to set a new high for the most games played in V/AFL history because he has decided to stay with the Magpies for another year. He has played 421 games for the Magpies and is getting closer to the V/AFL record of 432 games, which is held by Brent Harvey.
Darcy Cameron has clear plans for his future now that he has signed a new three-year deal that lasts until 2029. This is after he finishes his current contract next year with the Pies. In a message on Collingwood’s website about his new contract, Cameron expressed his appreciation for the support he has received from the Magpies.
“I started with just one game under my belt, and now I have over 100. The Pies believed in me, and I will always be thankful for the chances and growth I’ve experienced since joining the Club,” Cameron shared.
“Choosing to stay with Collingwood was a simple choice for me. This Club is really important to me, and now feels like the right moment to commit once more. We have such a great team here, from the players to the coaches and staff, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together in the next few years. ”
There were talks that Cameron might want to return to his home state of Western Australia, where the West Coast Eagles seemed like a possible option if that happened.
As it stands, Collingwood is in third place on the leaderboard, and the teams in second to eighth place are only separated by one game, with just two games left in the season.
