Zac Lomax Rejects $1.3 Million Rebel Code Offer, Declares Parramatta Eels “The Only Place That Feels Like Home”

Parramatta Eels strike weapon Zac Lomax has delivered a massive boost to the club’s future by rejecting a lucrative $1.3 million-a-season offer from rebel competition Rugby 360, instead pledging his commitment to the blue and gold.

The 25-year-old winger was one of Rugby 360’s prime recruitment targets as the breakaway code pushes to secure star names ahead of its planned 2026 launch. Had he accepted, Lomax would have more than doubled his current $650,000 NRL salary and walked away from a deal that keeps him at Parramatta until the end of 2028.

But Lomax put an end to speculation, insisting his heart remains with the Eels.

“For me, the Eels is the only place that feels like home,” Lomax said.
“I’ve built really strong bonds with my teammates and the staff here, and I love running out in front of our fans. No amount of money can give me that feeling. I came here to win something special, and I want to stay and make that happen.”

His statement of loyalty comes at a crucial time, with several NRL stars weighing up code switches or overseas opportunities. By turning his back on Rugby 360, Lomax has not only committed to Parramatta but also reinforced his belief in what coach Brad Arthur is building.

Arthur praised Lomax’s decision, describing it as a reflection of his character and determination to achieve success in the NRL.
